I shall never work or live in Russia . Why on earth would I want such punishment ? Why would I want to learn this language when a very high proportion of educated Russians speak English to some degree or another ? Incidentally , I make an identical point about the US ,  and , in theory  , their language is much closer to English than Russian is .
By the same token , I speak neither Spanish or French , let alone Chinese  , and these three languages are immeasurably more useful and relevant in todays world  than Russia ever was or will be .
Apart from the fact that I see the importance of Russia declining rapidly as the Federation reaches the end of its historical cycle , I have to admit that increasingly I am convinced that a major world disaster will occur quite soon and quite possibly in about 17 months time . This might seem a very strange thing for an otherwise intelligent man to say l,  but I have become acquainted with cosmic ray research findings that are of very disturbing nature and which also coincide with Disaster scenarios as predicted at a popular level by Mayan calendar forecasts .
This is a topic that can be easily ridiculed but the scientific evidence that lends support to it is sensational ( not so much suppressed , as totally ignored in almost a controlled way) , and  , in its simplest terms  , can be described as Magnetic Pole reversal which happens regularly on this planet and  this is well documented .
It would not surprise me to hear that this latter view is not shared by yourself but then you will not be aware of its scientific results base .

Depends. Lots of industries are seeking after specialists with the good command of Russian because it is beneficial to have a negotiator who can speak fluent Russian rather than having a dumb English arrogant guy who will make a joke out of himself (believe me, I heard my colleagues laughing about English-American guys, mocking them and being quite rude overall in an amusing way), so do not underestimate the Russian language and its importance. As a famous russophobe, of course you will never learn Russian, and as a person of an old age, it will probably will be beyond your capabilities to learn anything at all (Alzheimer is near if not afflicted your sick mind yet!)

Lanya, if Moon has any problem with Ramon, it doesn't mean you should as well. I realize that the whole idea of feminism (not in the extreme - i.e. not shaving your armpits or not wearing bra and letting your breasts hanging loose; but the most sensible bit - i.e. women having their own opinion regardless of what their man tells them to think) went straight over your head. But you've engaged in a battle you have no ability to win. If you want to beat Ramon, do it with style, logic, common sense, humour, and straight facts.

But if you try to bullshit the bullshitter you will loose cause he has far more experience in it.
So when you use silly arguments like the one I've just quoted above be prepared to be called silly and ignorant.

Why learn English? How about because it's officially the common international language that you can almost always rely on when abroad?
